This
is a good workhorse traction only motor controller for more powerful
EVs. It works well across a voltage range of 72V to 120V
nominal. Current rating is 225A for 1 hour, 375A for 5 minutes and 550A
for 2 minutes, all assuming suitable heatsinking fitted. It has a dual
frequency arrangement which switches from about 1.5kHz to about 15kHz
after approximately 1/5th throttle position has been reached. Suitable
for most vehicles and particularly useful for those over 1500 kg laden
or fast vehicles over 1000kg (allows speeds approaching 100 mph!). Adjustments can be made by trim pots, does not require a programmer. Can be
used with most of the series wound motors we offer.
To
operate this controller you just need a 2-wire throttle potentiometer
such as our type CR-T-2, a line contactor such as our type CT-T200 and
a remote cut-off switch such as our type RCS-1
