Affordable AC motor contol is a comparatively recent addition to the world of EVs and opens up lots of new possiblities and solutions. The AC motor is often more efficient than many DC motors and has the benefit of improved torque characteristics, fewer parts and, particularly in the case of the induction motor, a reputation for excellent reliability and longevity.   

The set-up of AC control is much more critical than most DC applications. So we supply our AC controllers complete with a suitable line contactor, a cut off switch, a forward reverse switch, a wiring loom and throttle potentiometer. With AC control it is imperative that the controller and motor are perfectly matched. Consequently we need to have full details of the motor before we can supply this type of controller. If you are using one of our AC controllers with one of our AC motors we can set the controller up correctly for you as a matched package. If you are using an existing motor we need full specification details from the motor data plate (and any other data you may have from the motor manufacturer) before we can supply a suitable controller.
