Shipping & Returns

Despatch of Goods aims to despatch the many specialist goods we supply as soon as possible so that you should receive them within approximately 5 working days. Where goods are not in stock we will advise you and despatch them as soon as possible when they become stock items. Some items are only supplied to order. These items will be supplied according to the manufacturer's lead-times which can be between 4 to 15 weeks depending on the product.

Delivery Carriers

We use a number of carriers to deliver your goods: For most smaller items/packages we will usually send by tracked post or for foreign orders by airmail, all with compensation cover. For most larger packable items we will usually use one of a number of competitive tracked and insured carrier services. For most large heavy items we will usually use a competitive pallet transport service. For some items we may arrange to make the delivery ourselves. Normally we will arrange deliveries but in some exceptional circumstances, solely at our discretion and by arrangement only, you may be able to collect the goods in which case we may provide you with our works stores address following receipt of your order. We do not supply goods from our contact address shown on this web site.

Shipping Rates

Shipping rates are determined by the weight, size and insurance value of the goods being purchased. Lower total goods order values below notional total values of £25.00 will be sent by basic non insured carrier. Higher total goods order values with notional total values above £25.00 will be sent by an insured carrier service. For goods to be delivered to addresses in mainland England and Wales please use the shipping calculator on the shopping cart page to determine the applicable shipping charges appropriate to your order.

Cancellation, Returns and Refunds

If you are not satisfied with any standard goods from you may cancel your order within 14 days of receipt of the goods. You must take reasonable care of the goods and return them to us with the original packaging in a saleable condition by tracked carriage service. We will provide a refund for the cost of the goods returned and the basic cost of the carriage we paid to send the goods to you. We will not be able to refund the proportion of the carriage charge we have to pay for the insurance for higher total goods order values - notional values above £25.00. We will not pay for the cost of the return carriage you use to return the goods to us.

If you decide to cancel an order with a higher total goods order value - notional value above £25.00 - before it has been dispatched and after we have booked the carrier collection, we will not be able to refund the proportion of the carriage charge we have to pay for the insurance.

Goods made to special order are not covered by our returns and refunds policy. We are unable to accept returns for goods correctly made to special order or provide any refunds.

Standard goods that have been purchased at AVT's premises or seen in person on collection and correctly supplied to a customer's order can be returned but there will be a handling and restocking charge up to the full value of the items at our sole discretion. We are unable to accept returns for goods correctly made to special order or provide any refunds.

Damaged or Faulty Goods

If possible please inspect all goods on delivery. If there is any damage to the packaging please state this when signing the carrier delivery note. Please advise immediately of any damage or faults with the goods you have purchased from us. Then please package the damaged or faulty goods securely, with the original packaging in which they were received, where possible, and pay for a tracked insured carriage service to deliver the goods back to within 7 days of the original delivery date. If the goods are returned to within seven working days of delivery, then we will endeavour to supply equivalent replacement goods or provide a full refund of the amount you have paid us for the goods and the cost of our original carriage. If only part of a shipment is damaged or faulty then only these items need be returned to us and if we choose to make a refund it will only be for the damaged or faulty goods and part of the carriage on a pro rata basis. After seven days and up to 28 days, at our sole discretion, we may decide to replace such items if we agree that they were supplied by us in a faulty or damaged condition. Our warranty period is 28 days but if the goods become faulty after 28 days and within 9 months of despatch please contact for further details of any manufacturers warranties that may be applicable. Please note that no warranties will apply to sales of any pre-used goods supplied except if stated so on the sales invoice.
