The brakes on a petrol or diesel engined car are usually assisted by a vacuum servo unit. On petrol/gasoline vehicles the vacuum is generally provided by the engine inlet manifold. On an electric car a vacuum pump is required to provide the vacuum for the servo unit. All our vacuum pumps are supplied as kits which include a vacuum switch to ensure the pump is running only when it is required, to save power.

These pumps are also ideal for use on petrol and diesel engined rally and racing cars and other high performance vehicles where there is a shortage of manifold induction vacuum. They have been used on 4x4s, including Landrovers and Range Rovers, both for the brakes and to allow operation of vacuum operated clutches.
